My name is Young Mi Kim, and I am very happy to join the Montessori in Motion community. I am originally from South Korea and bring over 26 years of experience in early childhood education, primarily in Montessori environments.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree and received my Montessori Diploma in 1999 from the Minnesota Montessori Training Center. Before moving to Washington State, I worked in Minnesota at Children’s Workshop, Lake Country Montessori, and Little Flowers Montessori School, where I supported young children through calm, respectful, and developmentally appropriate guidance.

I am committed to supporting children’s independence, confidence, and curiosity by creating a warm and nurturing classroom where they feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore at their own pace. I value building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues within the school community.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy doing crafts and digital illustration, as well as spending quality time with my family and my dog, Emmi.
