Yoanna Sandoval
Primary Spanish Immersion Assistant

I am from the tropical Central American country of Honduras, a center for Latin culture, where I grew up immersed in that enriching culture, graduated college, and received an associate’s degree in art and sciences. For 13 years, I worked as a special education instructor in Southern California. I have two amazing children, Pavel and Walezka, and have been happily married to my husband Jose since 1994.

From 2005 to early 2011, I worked for the University Place School District, then in 2011, I came to work at MIM for the summer program. This was one of the most meaningful and awe-inspiring events of my life and I have been here for 7 years. I have immersed myself in this unique environment and really enjoy this job. I adore children, their laughter, smiles and questions. I have really appreciated watching the children grow and learn thus far. I look forward to each day of work here and to be able to share my knowledge with all these wonderful children.
