Rose Dougherty
Toddler Assistant

After graduating high school from the Science and Math Institute located in Point Defiance park I really did not have a clue what I was going to do. I knew that I wanted to find my passion before returning to school, so that is what I am doing now! My first job working with kids was the summer after graduating high school in 2017. I worked as a Washington Reading Corps Member (AmeriCorps) at Northeast Tacoma Elementary school which is also where my mom works as a Special Education teacher. It was truly an inspirational time and I realized I may be more like my mom than I thought! After completing a school year in Northeast I wanted to further my experience working with kids, I have been working at Tacoma Children’s School, a pre-school in Tacoma, and have absolutely loved learning and working with kids at all levels. Now I will step into a new adventure working with toddlers!

In my spare time, I enjoy watching films, spending time with my family and friends, painting with my partner and cuddling my dog. I am the youngest of four children and have always been attentive and quiet. Through working with children, I have discovered new confident and compassionate sides of myself. This is where I want to be!
